Just hours after his dismissal, Moore was detained by police. According to the Saline Police Department, he was located and taken into custody; subsequently, he was handed over to the Pittsfield Township Police Department for further investigation. Over his two seasons, Michigan compiled an overall record of 17–8 under Moore’s leadership. This season alone, the Wolverines finished 9–3.
Despite on-field success, the program now faces a sudden and disruptive leadership change at a sensitive time — just weeks before the bowl game scheduled later this month.
To guide the team forward, the university immediately appointed Biff Poggi as interim head coach.
